The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of financial statements ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in reporting. This role will require a strong understanding of accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. This person will work closely with Accounting, AR/Collections, AP, Payroll, and other departments as needed to ensure accounting information is recorded accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manages the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements by explaining variances and providing insights into financial performance.
  • Assists with month-end and year-end closing processes including reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Ensures compliance with various regulatory requirements, i.e., tax filings, statutory reporting, and audit procedures.
  • Acts as the point of contact between the Company and external auditors for annual audit and other matters.
  • Develops and maintains accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and streamline reporting processes.
  • Leads or assists in the implementation and optimization of financial systems and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
  • Stays abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and communicates implications to stakeholders.
  • Provides financial and accounting leadership, due diligence, and post-acquisition integration support for acquisitions and other special projects

Required Education, Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) required.
  • Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience.
  • Mid-tier or Big 4 firm experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends, and translate insights effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to change, embrace challenges, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation
  • This position is classified as exempt and subject to all state and federal laws.
  • This role carries a compensation salary range of $120,000-$145,000 USD annually, reflective of experience.
  • Competitive discretionary bonus structure is tied to performance.

Work Environment

This is a full-time at-will position with work hours typically scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Ability/willingness to adapt to alternative work schedule is expected.

The physical requirements include:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
