JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Reporting Manager oversees the consolidation of POET's operating business units and equity investments, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders. You will be responsible for providing value added information and analysis for internal customers and executive leadership, developing and monitoring KPIs to help drive continuous improvement, and building strategic partnerships with other business leaders. The Financial Reporting Manager is also responsible for leading the accounting, reporting, and forecasting functions of POET LLC, internal control compliance, process development, and financial reporting team supervision and development.

DURING A TYPICAL DAY
  • Lead and develop a team of finance professionals to drive value added activities that support company strategies and objectives, while fostering personal and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and accuracy of reporting.
  • Partner with IT and FinTech teams to enhance finance systems and data automation.
  • Prepare multi-level consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations.
  • Review and analyze monthly forecasted consolidated financial statements, the consolidated annual budget, and related reporting packages.
  • You will have key responsibilities in external audits, preparing, reviewing, and communication with audit team.
  • Oversee accounting, monthly reporting, forecasting, and analysis for various functional areas, including shared services.
  • Collaborate with shared service department VPs to manage budgets and financials.
  • Effectively manage the team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members.
  • Research and document complex accounting issues, applying GAAP principles.
  • Oversee internal controls analysis and compliance for your areas of responsibility.
  • Work in an honest and ethical manner; maintain confidentiality on all business-related matters.
  • Always foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance.
  • Maintain a team environment and champion POET in the community.

STRENGTHS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • You have a history of proven leadership in accounting and financial reporting
  • You have experience in public accounting, a background in financial statement consolidations, or experience with financial auditing
  • You have a CPA, extensive understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), strong technical accounting skills, and experience applying GAAP to complex accounting situations
  • You value relationships, are driven, and highly energetic
  • You have grit, the ability to persevere and rally teams to achieve extraordinary results
  • You communicate effectively in writing and in person
  • You have strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • You are a change agent - you hate the answer, "because we have always done it this way" and drive continual process improvement
  • You can recruit, hire, develop, and lead a strong team
  • You have experience building comprehensive reporting packages and dashboards, experience in working in various financial reporting software is a plus
  • You have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • This position operates in an office environment working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand.
