Financial Systems Product Owner

The Financial Systems Product Owner plays an important role in maintaining, designing, developing, and implementing systems for use within the Finance Department. This position evaluates business requirements and provides specification for new or modified software systems enhancements, patches and/or integration solutions. Conducts and analyzes business and information technology processes and documentation and prepares essential discovery work. Participates in the definition, testing, training, implementation and support of system changes and upgrades. Identifies requirements, develops and/or reviews test plans, tracks and documents the development and results of these plans. Alerts project team members and leaders to potential risks and issues of importance. Solicits requirements through interview, workshops, and/or existing systems documentation or procedures.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Support business users, build, maintain, and troubleshoot Finance Systems including, but not limited to, Oracle EPM Cloud (Planning (EPBCS) and Consolidations (FCCS)) including hierarchy changes, building and maintaining web forms, data integrations, configurations, and business rules.
  • Understanding of FP&A processes including bottom-up planning, scenario modelling, allocations, account reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and top-side adjustments
  • Participates in systems requirements, definition, testing, training, implementation, and support.
  • Program manage systems implementation project
  • Point-person for EPM systems health check and for EPM outside service developers
  • Document procedures and write training documents.
  • Documents the results of analysis activities using the appropriate templates or analysis tools.
  • Work from high-level or detailed requirements, to design, develop, test, and implement a variety of operational and analytical financial systems.
  • Adheres to process guidelines, policies, and standards.
  • Lead research, identify, and analyze the requirements of business users.
  • Makes recommendations for necessary changes on projects that come in from other departments or software vendors.
  • Develops test schedules, reviews testing plans, tracks, and documents development results.
  • Conduct financial system training.
  • Prepare documentation for assigned projects and complete the paperwork necessary to release the project.
  • Support integrated releases and production deployments.
  • Work with team for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of issues
  • Creates, modifies, maintains, and schedules procedures and reports.
  • Identifies areas of potential business risk and communicates these to the Project Team members and Leaders.
  • Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with an emphasis on MIS, Computer Science or related field required.
  • 6+ years of general business analysis experience required, may act as lead.
  • Previous experience in project analysis
  • Previous experience with system implementations or upgrades
  • 2+ years of experience with Oracle EPM Cloud as a System Administrator including configuration, data integration, and business rules.
