REPORTS TO: Fiscal Supervisor, Food and Nutrition Services
DEFINITION: Analyzes, monitors, and reports on the fiscal activities of the Office of Food and Nutrition Services (OFNS). Provides support for budgeting, financial reporting, and forecasting. Processes all accounts payable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
One year of related experience preferred.
Note: Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge and skills necessary to perform effectively in the class may be considered.
Licenses and Certificates: None.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and related applications. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of accounting and budgeting principles and practices.
Knowledge of financial software.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all contacts.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work of this class is generally sedentary and performed in an office environment.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employees may be required to work beyond their normally scheduled hours with little or no advanced notice.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Analyzes revenue and expense trends and explains variances to the operating budget.
- Analyzes vendor expenses to ensure compliance with contractual agreements. Provides data needed to support the contracting process.
- Analyzes and audits employee expenses including mileage.
- Assists in the overall development of the annual operating and capital budgets.
- Prepares monthly and ad hoc financial reports.
- Prepares forecasts of revenue and expenses and provides written and statistical comparisons to budget.
- Provides data and financial modeling to aid in the decision-making process regarding the repair or replacement of fixed assets.
- Enters, verifies, and processes accounts payable. Researches and resolves discrepancies involving purchase orders, invoices, and receiving documents.
- Identifies and implements process improvements regarding vendor and employee payment, budgeting, financial reporting, financial analysis, and forecasting.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
