Fleet Manager
The Wagner Companies, a member of The Baillie Group, is hiring a Fleet Manager based in Owego, NY. The fleet operations manager is responsible for vehicle and equipment management including planning which includes oversight and direction for all fleet repair and maintenance programs, fuel management programs and management of systems to optimize all resources while minimizing costs. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the fleet and the associated vehicle programs with an emphasis on providing fleet solutions to support our operations that focus on safety, cost control and operational efficiency. The manager will focus on fleet efficiency, develop our vehicle replacement deployment strategy and develop plans to enhance the allocation of resources while maintaining a strong focus on operational safety and will ensure full compliance with the relevant legal entities. The manager will manage all repair and maintenance activities all garage activities, all maintenance staff, administer external providers and develop plans to implement outsourcing opportunities. The manager also be responsible for delivering industry-leading administrative practices.
Overall fleet management includes 65+ power units, 30+ log picker trucks and 75+ trailers along with company-owned pickup trucks assigned to our forestry staff.
Duties and responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the fleet and the associated vehicle programs with an emphasis on providing fleet solutions to support our operations that focus on safety, cost control and operational efficiency.
Develop program programs and implement a fleet assets and maintenance management system for the acquisition repair maintenance and replacement of all company vehicles and equipment in all systems requirements
Manage day-to-day repair preventative maintenance warranty recovery and compliance programs and publish internal scorecard metrics
Develop and implement a best-in-class fleet administrator program next bullet responsible for the performance management including goal objective setting development training and education of fleet direct reports
Implement a company-wide dispatch system that maximizes efficiency and minimizes costs across the fleet
Develop and implement a fleet standardization and configuration process and connect in conjunction with all stakeholders
Develop and administer and administer the company's annual fleet budget
Develop and maintain all driver safety programs including training and monitoring of all fleet activities
Manage the company fleet of assigned vehicles to forestry staff
Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
Experience of managing fleet operations management
Proven track record of partnership and relationship development in significant cost reduction and efficiency improvements improvement results
Extensive knowledge of supply chain management practices
Some knowledge of fleet sizing replacement cycle methodologies equipment repair and maintenance programs and procedures next volume considerable knowledge of safety principles and practices
Is a progressively responsible supervisory experience in fleet management
Knowledge of pertinent federal state and local laws codes and regulations including current drivers' hours of service and those related to fleet administrative and operations
Education and Experience
College graduate BS in logistics, industrial engineering, or related program
Experience in lieu of BS will be considered
Advanced degree of plus
