NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada's first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

We are seeking a highly skilled Formation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for battery process management and troubleshooting, deep analysis of failure mode and process improvement for yield and OEE. This role requires a strong understanding of PFD, PFMEA, CP, OEE, yield, production results This role will also require strong problem solving and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with Canadian and Korean engineering teams.

Responsibilities:
- Battery process management and troubleshooting
- Deep failure mode analysis
- Process improvements for yield and OEE
- Collaboration with Canadian and Korean engineering teams
Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Bachelor's degree (engineering major is preferred - Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, etc.)
- MS Office tool-based report
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Advanced skills in computational draft program (Ex. Auto CAD, Solid works)
- Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to achieve team goals and targets
- Must possess strong computational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills as well as statistical knowledge
- A team player who can multitask and thrive in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
Preferred Requirements:
- 3+ years manufacturing experience (especially lithium-ion battery industry)
- Master's Degree in Engineering
