Apply NowCompany: Kodif
Location: San Francisco, CA 94112
Description:
A Silicon Valley-based startup - KODIF - is seeking a talented and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our AI-driven customer experience solutions.
About Us:
At Kodif, our values guide how we work together, what we expect from one another, and what our partners can expect from us. We believe that every team member should embrace and exhibit these principles:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in maintaining and scaling our infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and performance of our platform. The ideal candidate will be a strong enabler for the development team to build, deploy, monitor functionality for our customers. To be successful at that in our environment candidates should have extensive experience with AWS, and familiarity with GCP, and possess strong infrastructure engineering skills.
Where We're At
Our infrastructure runs on a Kubernetes cluster in AWS EKS, managed through Terraform modules in Git. Application code is hosted on GitHub, with builds triggered via GitHub Actions. Built Docker images are pushed to Amazon ECR, and Argo CD automatically detects and deploys new images to production. Logs are managed within AWS, with additional monitoring through Sentry and PagerDuty. Developers continuously build and deploy new features through this pipeline, occasionally introducing new environment variables as needed.
Where We're Going
As demand for our platform grows, maintaining speed and efficiency is crucial. Key DevOps priorities include reducing the divide between operations and development. Aligned with our "Make it Simple" value, simplifying processes enables teams to take full end-to-end ownership of features and systems, including production operations. This reflects our "Extreme Ownership" principle.
Another focus is enhancing developer tooling to build applications quickly and confidently. Speed is core to our culture ("Superhuman Speed"), and supporting this means providing accessible test data for local development, improving observability for better insights into production, and streamlining tooling upgrades to unlock new capabilities.
Security must also be seamless and automatic-reinforcing our "Make it Simple" philosophy. Automation and standardization will ensure security best practices without slowing development.
Key Responsibilities:

- Make It Simple - Whether it's designing a user-friendly interface or writing clean, maintainable code, simplicity is key. Keeping things simple allows our team to work with speed and efficiency.
- Superhuman Speed - We move fast. Engineers should be able to own a problem, build a solution, and deploy it all in the same day. Speed is not just for efficiency-it's an opportunity to impress our customers and make work more rewarding.
- Extreme Ownership - We take full responsibility for getting things done. It's not just about doing our part-it's about identifying what needs to be done, taking initiative, and ensuring we achieve the right outcomes.
- Customer Crazy - Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We build strong relationships, empathize with their challenges, and constantly seek ways to improve their experience.
- Two Steps Ahead - We don't just solve problems; we anticipate them. We think beyond the present to build solutions that eliminate entire pain points and create better experiences for our customers.
- Row Together - Success at Kodif is a team effort. We prioritize clear communication, collaboration, and agility to move fast and achieve our goals together.
