Summary

Reporting to the Vice President, Client Experience and Consulting, the Freelance Consultant - Senior Fundraising Specialist (SFS) acts as the senior strategist and expert when it comes to fundraising, direct marketing consulting, and donor engagement, providing direction to team members on campaign strategy by translating client objectives into actionable plans.

This role relies on data to develop insights that inform strategy development and testing plans resulting in increased revenue growth for clients. Working alongside the Director, Strategic Accounts (DSA) and in collaboration with internal teams, the Freelance Consultant - Senior Fundraising Specialist delivers exceptional results for Blue North clients and ensures our solutions evolve to remain a leader in the sector.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy:
  • Working alongside the DSA and internal teams, develop and document the overall multi-channel fundraising strategy for clients by utilizing data to create actionable insights and plans to achieve client objectives.
  • Consult on donor behaviour and segmented audience treatment strategies, and develop new testing strategies driven by client results and market insights that would result in increased revenue growth for clients.
  • Act as a fundraising champion within Blue North to develop fundraising expertise and skills, ensuring the best results are brought to our clients.

Planning:
  • Establish goals and plan campaign calendars with clients, ensuring that all campaigns are well-structured with clear goals and a well-defined process to measure success.

Performance:
  • Review Appeal Wrap-Ups and determine reasons for performance and what to keep doing, stop doing, and recommendations for future campaigns.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years' fundraising experience in multi-channel direct marketing, ideally within an agency environment; annual planning experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working at a senior/strategic level with a proven track record of developing effective fundraising strategies for direct marketing programs that resulted in increased revenue growth for clients.
  • Expert at analyzing and distilling client data to provide insights and create effective donor segmentation and testing strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to successfully build strong relationships and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to inspire and influence team members to achieve exceptional results.
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation would be considered an asset.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
