As a Frontend Engineering Manager, you'll lead the development and architect our brand-new public-facing website using React and Next.js. You'll combine your technical expertise with leadership skills to drive best practices in web performance, user experience, and cutting-edge frontend technologies. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of frontend concepts, including server-side rendering, WebSocket connections, performance metrics, and responsive testing across devices. This is an exciting opportunity to own and shape the frontend engineering strategy for a highly visible, public-facing site. About the role
- Inspire, motivate, and lead a team of full-stack software engineers, focusing primarily on frontend development, while driving technical leadership, architectural decisions, and development best practices.
- Champion modern frontend technologies and UI frameworks to foster innovation, defining and executing a clear technical roadmap aligned with business objectives and strategic initiatives.
- Cultivate an environment of rapid delivery and minimal technical debt through self-directed teams, emphasizing best practices, coding standards, and effective development methodologies to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
- Establish clear team goals and quarterly roadmaps that serve as anchor points for informed decision-making and productive conversations.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and professional growth, actively promoting skill-building and career development opportunities within the team.
About you
- A relentless passion for enhancing client experience, developer efficiency, and velocity across all aspects of development.
- Strong ability to collaborate closely with product teams and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that consistently exceed expectations.
- Proficiency with modern software development technologies and practices, including frameworks and libraries such as React, Next.js, Nest.js Material UI, TypeScript, and state management tools.
- Ability to break down complex projects into clear, technical user stories, provide accurate estimates, and consistently deliver on commitments.
- An in-depth understanding of the entire ecosystem, including dependencies and integrations, marketing technologies such as GTM, A/B testing platforms, analytics tools, and user behavior tracking systems.
- Ability to serve as both coach and player-comfortable rolling up your sleeves to write code and directly contribute whenever necessary.
- Hands-on experience with and understanding of Web performance optimization and metrics, as well as multi-device compatibility and cross-browser testing strategies.
- Proficiency in React and TypeScript.
- Experience leading teams responsible for developing public-facing websites.
