Current Opening: Full-time Facility Chief Engineer - Contract site in SE Washington, DC.
Scope: The Facility Chief Engineer will cultivate a multi-faceted facility maintenance & management program at Clients' sites in an effort to promote a seamless partnership between the Company and the Client. Fulfill all Company's obligations as outlined in the contract scope as well as develop and mentor Contractor's on-site Project employees.

Scope: The Facility Chief Engineer will cultivate a multi-faceted facility maintenance & management program at Clients' sites in an effort to promote a seamless partnership between the Company and the Client. Fulfill all Company's obligations as outlined in the contract scope as well as develop and mentor Contractor's on-site Project employees.
Duties:
- Oversee preventative maintenance and repair tasks and conduct inspections on a regular basis to determine the need and extent of service required.
- Procure and manage outsourced services contracts through competitive bidding process in coordination with and with the final approval of the Client's Director of Facilities and Operations.
- Keep all mechanical, electrical, and structural blueprints and diagrams up to date; maintain library of parts list, maintenance manuals, reference books and catalogues.
- Maintain and train personnel on Project's CMMS system.
- Ensure that all MEP systems are operating in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion by managing all phases of maintenance, repair and replacement of equipment.
- Make determination if repair and maintenance tasks should be completed internally or through external contractors in coordination with and with the agreement of the Client. Schedule employees in accordance with plan while being conscious of budget constraints and contract obligations.
- Establish measurable response metrics for responding to service requests and work orders (i.e. service ticket priority ratings).
- Coordinate set-ups and breakdowns for on-site Project events.
- Maintain a supply of inventory necessary for optimal operating efficiency by initiating purchase orders for maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, parts and services as needed.
- Assist the Client with the preparation of operating and capital budgets.
- Pursue and coordinate subcontractors for any work contracted by Client related to the Project or its systems related to the Scope of Work of this Contract.
- Complete property inspections on a monthly basis.
- Provide direction, leadership and training to all on-site Contractor personnel.
- Ensure compliance with Client policies, procedures, codes, regulations, government agency directives as well as Contractor's Best Practices/Policies and Procedures.
- Provide and foster positive relationships with Client's employees, visitors and occupants.
- Maintain interface with Client administrators, ensuring total contract compliance, including preparation of accurate and timely reporting.
- Be available to Client on nights and weekends for special events as required by Client.
- Be available to respond to emergency calls and administer an after-hours emergency response call list.
- Manage snow removal operations by Staff and Contractors during snow and ice precipitation events
- Manage emergency response tasks in any Project related emergencies such as power outages, vehicle accidents on the premises, storm related emergencies, and any other emergency type situations.
- Liaison with Client on a frequent basis but no less than one time per week, with additional meetings upon a mutual agreement with management.
- Routinely inspect work performed by Staff and Contractors working at the Project.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma
- 10 years related experience
- Communicate effectively in English speaking and writing.
- Experience with MS WORD & Excel
- CMMS Software Experience
- CFC Certification
- Technical knowledge and understanding of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system operation, troubleshooting & repair.
- DC 3rd Class license - a plus.
- Possess current, valid driver's license (not under suspension or limitation).
- Good physical condition with ability to lift 75 lbs. and possessing good fine motor coordination and ability to withstand exposure to dust, fumes, heights, and confined spaces.
- Ability to pass drug screening and criminal background check with no felony records.
