Job Description
The Fulfillment Center General Manager (GM) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations within the fulfillment center, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of inbound and outbound functions. This role leads a team of managers and supervisors and is accountable for achieving performance targets related to safety, quality, productivity, staffing, and customer service.
The GM will implement and enforce company policies and procedures, develop strategic labor and production plans, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and the ability to foster a high-performance culture aligned with the organization's mission and values. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Fulfillment and serves as a key liaison between corporate leadership and fulfillment center operations.

Work Schedule:
Must be available to work outside standard business hours and be on-call seven days a week. The schedule will vary periodically per operational needs; flexibility and responsiveness are essential.
Adaptability:
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 49 pounds. Regular physical activity is required, including bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching above the head and below the waist. Must be comfortable working in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature fluctuations. Must safely access all facility areas, including ascending/descending ladders, stairs, and gangways. Ability to stand and walk for 10 to 12 hours daily and cover distances up to a quarter mile, typical of our fulfillment center layout.

- Adjust staffing levels in real time to stay within Annual Operating Plan targets and pivot to frequently changing business needs.
Be in the Trenches
- Provide daily hands-on oversight of the fulfillment team, including training, coaching, mentoring, planning and scheduling, and conducting meaningful fact-driven performance reviews.
Outbound Excellence
- Lead all aspects of outbound fulfillment. Ensure customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped efficiently, precisely, and with pride, consistently exceeding expectations.
Inbound Efficiency:
- Manage inbound operations to ensure product is received, processed, and put away quickly, maintaining less than a one-week backlog.
Flex Like a Pro:
- Build a strong relationship with our flexible workforce provider to ensure peak coverage and long-term support.
People First, Always:
- Collaborate with managers on all labor, including safety, operational security, employee relations, planning and scheduling, training, and more.
Budget Boss:
- Manage and monitor all aspects of your building budget, working closely with the Vice President of Distribution to ensure every dollar supports the mission and optimizes 4-wall costs.
Qualifications
Our Next GM Has:
- Experience in retail and e-commerce supply chain management and optimization
- 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain or operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong supply chain principles, procurement, logistics, and inventory management knowledge.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with global supply chain practices and regulations.
- Proven Leadership at Scale
- Direct and indirect management of 200+ team members, including leadership of multiple managers and supervisors across numerous shifts
- Demonstrated success in leading large teams through high-volume, high-pressure environments
- Exceptional People Skills
- Clear and concise communication, motivation, coaching and mentoring, collaboration, and training aptitude
- Ability to adapt and overcome in a dynamic, competitive, and ever-evolving fulfillment environment
