The Full Stack Software Engineer will be part of a growing team responsible for the following:
  • Becoming a key contributor in the M&S IT Dealer Systems space, addressing dealer pain points while building enhanced User Experiences.
  • Managing the existing functionality of a recently modernized NextGen Dealer Program Enrollment (DPES)application, while implementing additional feature capabilities based on business needs
  • Updating a 20+ year old existing legacy Sign Ordering System (RIPSOS) application written in old/out of date technologies by modernizing using Java, SpringBoot, Angular, API's, Postgres all running on GCP, while addressing some identified pain points with the existing system in the process.
  • Breaking out existing billing functionality from the NextGen DPES application and creating an entirely new application


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and other Software Engineers, to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Author process and design documents.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy solutions in collaboration with business customers, product owners, architects, and security controls champions.
  • Generate metrics, perform user access authorization, maintain passwords, and build deployment pipelines.
  • Lead and participate in incident, problem, change, and service request-related activities, including root cause analysis and proactive problem management.

The candidate for the role must be a problem solver that can deal with ambiguity, and who is focused on getting things done with very strong follow-through. They must also be strong conceptual thinkers and demonstrate effective communication skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both IT(front-end and back-end developers), and our business partners
  • 3+ years experience in software engineering building complete systems with a focus on Java, Springboot, Angular, API's, SQL Databases
  • 1+ year of experience developing for and deploying on cloud platforms, specifically Google Cloud Platform(GCP).
  • Experience working in a CI/CD environment with tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, Tekton, Cycode
  • Experience/understanding of JAVA Springboot (APIs), and/or Angular (UI)
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism in all actions.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual and reasoning skills

Additional Preferred Skills
  • Good knowledge of testing and security methodologies and tools such as SonarQube, CheckMarx
  • Good understand of logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, and DynaTrace
  • Good understanding of performance and load engineering and tuning
  • Agile Project Management tools (JIRA) is a plus
  • Experience creating technical specifications
  • Business process improvement experience
  • Knowledge of Ford IT security policy and requirements

Nice to Have Skills
  • Any previous experience with Classic ASP Technology and SQL Server (to better understand existing logic of application being modernized)
  • Any previous system architecture experience
  • Any previous Dealership Systems experience
  • Any previous Dealer Billing practices experience
