We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team and build a real-time grid intelligence platform that will play a key role in our product suite. What will you do?
Core Responsibilities and Key Performance Objectives
  • Develop LineVision's transmission line monitoring situational awareness application with full stack responsibilities, including charting/data visualization, video streaming, and UX design.
  • Design and build API access for customers and internal tooling.
  • Take ownership of project management and design, working closely with users to understand their needs and iteratively refine solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Computer Vision team to integrate model outputs into customer-facing features.
  • Ensure software scalability, reliability, and performance as we move from pilot phase to production.
Within the first 3 months:
  • Develop MVP features to validate pilot project user requirements.
  • Work closely with Product Management to scope and prioritize development efforts.
  • Gain familiarity with our software architecture, data, models, and deployment processes.
Within the first 6 months:
  • Expand collaboration with other squads, integrating new technology into the existing codebase and platform.
  • Take a lead role in designing core system components and making informed architectural decisions.
Within the first year:
  • Scale and productize new applications, ensuring data integrity, automation, and deployment readiness.
  • Work cross-functionally with Platform, Data Science, and other engineering teams to integrate features and improve system performance.

Essential Skills
  • Fullstack development experience, with a slight focus on frontend/UX.
  • We use Python (server & scripting), JavaScript/TypeScript (frontend), PostgreSQL, and AWS.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization, streaming technologies, and scalable API design.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment with evolving requirements.
Reporting & Team Structure
  • Reports to the Team Technical Lead, as the second developer on this nascent team.
  • Collaborates closely with data science, other software teams, and product management.
