Skills:

• GCP (Google Cloud) SME
• Must understand security controls and the 5 pillars of cloud
• Automation mindset: uses HashiCorp - have 6 or 7, one being Terraform (most common and mandatory), Sentinel is a second but basic knowledge is ok
• Cost Optimization mindset: if they build a capacity, it's a real dollar (not like on-prem)
• Java or Golang development: building in a public cloud is simple to click buttons, but the automation piece, needs to make sure they cover all the offerings
• Security: can keep security of the cloud in mind to protect the brand

Responsibilities:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
• 5 + years of experience with Infrastructure automation tools (Terraform), with a focus on IaC and immutable infrastructure.
• 5 + years of experience with GCP cloud offerings
• Develop an in-depth understanding of Google Cloud's GKE/Anthos product technology and underlying architectures by troubleshooting, reproducing, and determining the root cause for customer-reported issues, building tools, and faster diagnosis.
• Software development experience in one of the OO programming language: Java, Go and or Python
• Understanding of good cloud architecture to ensure high availability while ensuring the highest level of security and visibility.
• Strong background of Container & Orchestration Technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift
• Understanding of Traffic Flow Management, to include Service Mesh concepts, with experience in Istio preferred, as well as how GTM and LTMs manage traffic flows.
• Experience with Logging and Monitoring tools such as Stackdriver, Prometheus, Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics.
• FinOps (cloud) domain knowledge preferred
• Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and articulate solutions
• Confirmed support of production systems at scale.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and exploit them to their optimal potential
• Act as consultant and subject matter expert for internal stakeholders in engineering, sales, customer organizations to resolve technical deployment obstacles and improve Google Cloud.
