We are looking for a passionate, self-driven and experienced General Accounting Manager to join our team. As our General Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for managing, developing and overseeing the whole financial management system in our company. As financial management is crucial for our company's performance, you will play a big role in company's growth and success.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, manage billing, cost accounting, consigned & owned physical inventories, purchasing, inventory accounting and revenue recognition
Manages, reviews, and determines the workflow within the Inventory Team.
Oversees finance staff and provides training and documentation on accounting procedures.
Maintain digital and physical records of all financial documents.
Monitors revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports.
Managing supplier relations and negotiating contracts, prices, timelines, etc.
Maintaining the supplier database, purchase records, and related documentation.
Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
Oversees the scheduling and reviewing of the annual physical inventory counts and liaisons with the auditors on any issues.
Coordinates the responses for audit questions related to inventory accounts. This includes year-end, bank, and insurance audits.
Support month end and year end close process
Implement and analyze Financial & Operational KPIs
Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
Manage budgeting and forecasting models
Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
Identifying, implementing, and evaluating operational and financial controls over inventory and supply chain processes
Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
Ensure practices are in place to prepare and maintain schedules and supporting documentation needed for the annual external audit.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at yearend
Requirements and qualifications:
5+ years of experience in accounting and finance
5+ years of experiences working in a 3PL setting, health and beauty experience a plus.
Coordinates the responses for audit questions related to inventory accounts. This includes year-end, bank, and insurance audits.
4-Year Degree in Accounting or Related Field (Masters / CPA is a Plus
Outstanding knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Critical thinking, problem-solving and negotiation skills
Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
Strong planning and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with other financial systems, specifically QuickBooks Online
