Summary of Position
There is a new type of Mellow Mushroom making its way to Grant Park,
located in Atlanta's spectacular outdoor space called The Beltline. With a
fresh new feel, we need a fresh new perspective to open the doors and inspire
the crew. If you are comfortable with forging this new path and blazing a new
trail at the storied pizza restaurant's new prototype location, you are the
General Manager we are looking for. You should be able to not only lead a team
through unique challenges but thrive doing it while simultaneously always
keeping the goals and intricacies of business management top of mind. The
general manager will keep this pizza joint jumping and the vibe steady while
the team members serve up stone-baked pizzas, crave-able food, and refreshing
beverages. This is not just a pizza place. We know you are not just any General
Manager.
Responsibilities
Operational
Train and maintain operational and brand
standards, including food preparation and presentation.
Highly skilled at food and beverage cost
management including ordering, prep and waste management, and inventory
controls.
Manage hourly Shroom Crew team members
including recruiting, training, scheduling, retention, coaching, and overall
labor costs.
Set the
Mellow vibe with staff and guests. Resolve guest issues as needed.
Use your experience to manage on and
off-premises sales i.e., catering and third party.
Keep it Mellow, safe, and secure through food
quality and safety programs and maintain proper security procedures to protect
employees, guests, and company assets.
Working knowledge of Mellow Mushroom's
systems: Aloha, Kitchen Display Systems, Tattle, Safety Culture, OlO,
Restaurant 365, and Schoox.
Proficiency with MS Office and Excel.
Business Management
Grow sales and profit by adhering to Mellow
Mushroom standards and service levels.
Ensuring all financial and
personnel/payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately.
Proficient in purchasing, recordkeeping, and
preparation of reports.
Competencies
Knowledge of Food Preparation.
Profit and loss management.
Strong operations and leadership skills.
Profit and loss management.
Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and
restaurant management.
Teamwork orientation.
Solid Time management skills.
Strong written and communication proficiencies.
Supervisory
Responsibility
This position will supervise approximately 40+
store-level employees per shift. Occasional supervision of franchisees'
employees is possible.
Work Environment
This position entails frequent use of standard
pizza and kitchen equipment such as ovens, freezers, coolers, and grills. There
is also frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions,
meat products, poultry products, seafood, and produce items. Also works in an
office environment and uses computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets,
and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are
representative of those that must be met by an employee.
Work a 5
day a week shift that includes a 10-hour day.
Prolonged
periods requiring standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and
stooping.
Frequently
manage food ingredients and kitchen equipment.
Ability
to work early morning hours as well as late night hours and sometimes both.
Frequent
cleaning of FOH and BOH kitchen equipment and restaurant facilities.
Speaking with
guests, vendors, and suppliers in person and on the phone, daily.
Specific
vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,
color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to adjust focus,
and the ability to focus at night.
Ability
to manage extreme temperatures, (freezer and cooler) and grill and oven.
Operationally work specific positions to maintain
guest service standards and efficient operations.
Position Type and
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours may vary if the manager must fill
in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise (the typical work week is 50
hours). Working on nationally recognized holidays is the norm.
Travel
Minimal travel.
Required
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of education.
Minimum of 5 years of General Management restaurant experience.
