The General and Operations Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure financial goals and objectives are achieved.

Salary Description
$110,000/year - $130,000/year
The General and Operations Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the organization to ensure financial goals and objectives are achieved.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages all aspects of Millwork operations, including production, quality control, and workflow efficiency.
- Oversees the bidding process, including preparing and reviewing bid proposals, estimating costs, and ensuring competitive pricing.
- Develops and manages contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and clients.
- Administers and oversees change orders and schedule of values assessing impacts on budget and timeline while ensuring proper documentation and communication.
- Oversees all aspects of employee management, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations, while ensuring discipline and terminations are handled in accordance with company policy.
- Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
- Works closely with Tharp business unit to ensure smooth intercompany purchase activity.
- Works with Tharp Sales team to help them cross sell millwork solutions for residential channel.
- Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
- Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and operations to ensure successful production operations.
- Assists with budget preparation for operations unit.
- Coordinates with marketing and sales departments to determine pricing, timing, and number of sales promotions, and products to be sold.
- Ensures compliance with industry regulations, building codes, and safety standards for all Millwork projects.
- Monitors material sourcing, procurement, and inventory management to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Collaborates with engineers and clients to ensure custom Millwork projects meet specifications and quality expectations.
- Implements process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and maintain high craftsmanship standards.
- Manages shop equipment maintenance and upgrades to ensure operational reliability and longevity.
- Develops and enforces quality control measures to maintain high product standards and customer satisfaction.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Millwork operations, including materials, production techniques, and industry standards.
- Experience with bidding and estimating processes.
- Familiarity with contract management principles and legal considerations.
- Ability to manage change orders effectively and communicate adjustments to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and process optimization.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
- Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong ability to interpret architectural and shop drawings.
Education and Experience:
- Associates degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required, Bachelor's degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- At least three years of supervisory experience highly preferred.
- Experience in leading Millwork operations, contract management, or related areas required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
- Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
