Job Description: The General Manager is a Key role in leading the entire dealership's operation and will be held accountable for the successful operation of the entire dealership.
- Develop and execute plans to ensure that maximum dealership profitability is achieved.
- Responsible for the realization of the defined company targets as well as the overall sales and market share, marketing, sales and fixed operations objectives
- Ability to forecast and present business performance metrics.
- Highly skilled in leading and developing high performance teams throughout the dealership
- Accomplish all objectives through leadership, analysis, planning, motivating, coaching and coordinating the activities of all departments as a whole business unit.
Job Responsibilities:
- Forecast the dealership's budget/operations for the coming year aligned to the objectives of the company for discussion and approval with Senior Management Team.
- Ensure that every department operates harmoniously and profitably. Discuss/implement course corrections as needed to achieve goals
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with the factory and lending institutions.
- Review policies/schedules to ensure that a completed financial statement is comprehensive, accurate and trending deltas have explanations/solutions.
- Formulate policies and establish procedures for all training programs and monitor their effectiveness.
- Oversee all dealership personnel functions to recognize accomplishments and address conflict management timely.
- Review and approve the compensation plans for all employees with department managers for alignment to budgets.
- Ensure that department managers are supervising employees for optimum effectiveness.
- Communicate executive management's (dealer principal, corporate personnel) policies and procedures to all employees and ensure that they are understood and followed.
- Provide enthusiastic leadership to shape and inspire employees' attitudes, build morale and fosters creativity and innovation.
- Conduct dealership managers' meetings at scheduled intervals.
- Coordinate with the business office to ensure that records, reports and analysis are maintained accurately.
- Execute a Code of Ethics that fosters proper business decorum, empathy, and compassion, while ensuring compliance with all corporate and governmental mandates.
- Develop merchandising strategies and assist in creating an effective, cost-efficient advertising and marketing plan.
- Resolve any customer complaints that departmental management has not been able to resolve.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of dealership management capacities with a proven track record of success, previous luxury dealership experience preferred.
- Ability to lead, motivate and train staff at various levels while moving at a rapid-pace in a dynamic work environment.
- Thorough understanding of Sales/Marketing, F&I and Fixed Operations, as well as financial statement aptitude.
- Competent multi-tasker with exceptional organizational and analytical skills, as well as an aptitude for information technology to maximize efficiency.
- Effective Communicator in person, on the telephone, and in writing.
- Highly skilled in customer negations, customer service and customer satisfaction - strong closer with CSI focus
- Previous employee management experience including hiring, training, mentoring, counseling and development
- Experience in increasing retail facility business and market share by developing and meeting aggressive volume sales goals from both existing and new customers
- Demonstrates stability of performance under pressure. Stays focused during times of ambiguity and/or adversity and seeks the information/support needed to move forward and manage risk/impacts.
- ADP experience preferred.
