Responsibilities
This position is accountable for ensuring safe and reliable bus service while being assigned to the Bus Command Center (BCC) for NYC Transit and MTA Bus. This position is responsible for directing, monitoring and coordinating bus revenue operations to ensure the delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable transportation service for both the customer as well as the employee. This position is responsible to lead Service Management Division Operations in the BCC. Directing and supporting the activities of Road Operations and depot personnel by coordinating the activities of dispatchers and managerial personnel assigned to the BCC. Responsible for implementing heightened operations in response to emergency situations and directing satellite desk operations when needed. Participates in the development of policies and procedures that govern actions to be initiated in response to daily operational occurrences of incident and service management. Oversee all activities of the Control Desk. Mediate labor issues and oversee supervisory scheduling/pick development. Ensure that all emergency and routine notifications are timely. Coordinate with OEM during storms & emergencies (i.e., snow event, evacuations, NYPD bus requests). Liaison between BCC and Central Road Service (CRS). Responsible for the training of BCC personnel on service management operations, new bus radio system and applications, console duties, accident/incident desk, spear data entry, synopsis generation, security protocols, emergency plans, storm control duty and Bus Trek.

Education and Experience
- Eight (8) years of related experience, at least four (4) years of which must have been in a supervisory/managerial capacity
- Must have previous experience in the title of Assistant General Superintendent Transportation or an equivalent title; or
- A satisfactory equivalent of the combined education/experience requirements.
Desired Skills
- Experience in the management of a Bus Command Center or equivalent Command Center experience.
- Extensive depot/division transportation operations experience or administrative experience in an operating environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience in the management of a large, multi-location, multi-faceted line-based organization with the ability to implement executive policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of NYCT's Department of Buses/MTA Bus rules and regulations and union contracts.
