Summary

The Generation Systems Engineer III - Steam Turbines provides technical engineering, design, economic, and analytical support in the development of long-range system plans and the execution of engineering requests, proposals, and presentations.
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical decisions and interpretations.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to others as needed.
  • May be subject to shift work.

The Generation Systems Engineer, Senior - Steam Turbines applies in-depth technical knowledge and expertise to complex engineering and construction projects and in resolving emergent issues.
Responsibilities:
  • Understand engineering technology and process concepts for the organization and its operations.
  • Work is reviewed from a long-term perspective and mainly for results.
  • Establish the most effective solution to problems.
  • Provide solutions that serve as a final technical basis for decisions.
  • May be subject to shift work.
Minimum Requirements

Engineer III - Steam Turbines
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science from an ABET-accredited institution or an equivalent recognized institution.
  • Five (5) years of experience in engineering-related positions.

Engineer, Senior - Steam Turbines
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science from an ABET-accredited institution or an equivalent recognized institution.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in engineering-related positions.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge, or Qualifications
  • Problem analysis and resolution techniques.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, practices, and safety regulations.
  • Experience in the utility industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Approved Degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Nuclear, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Electronics, Computer Science, Environmental, Chemical, Architectural, Structural. Engineering Technology degrees are not automatically considered equivalent to a B.S. degree in Engineering.
Major Accountabilities
  • Prepare engineering plans, designs, analysis, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations, studies, technical reviews, and verifications.
    • Ensure compliance with design, regulatory, operational, and maintenance requirements.
    • Ensure engineering analyses, designs, and project control are technically sound, cost-effective, and comply with established standards.
    • Review and validate analysis, evaluations, and investigations conducted by others.
  • Interface with customers and departments to ensure project objectives are met within scope, budget, and schedule.
    • Obtain and present technical data to management and customers.
    • Present designs, studies, and projects to relevant stakeholders.
  • Enhance department performance and productivity by formulating analyses and recommending improvements.
    • Provide technical guidance to department personnel.
  • Oversee engineering technical programs, ensuring compliance with program requirements and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage small- to medium-scale projects, including planning, design, scheduling, and coordination.
    • Identify potential schedule or quality problems and initiate corrective action.
    • Remove barriers and allocate resources to ensure project success.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.
  • Participate in developing long-range strategies for site-wide technical issues.
  • Provide input on projects, recommend modifications for operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Stay updated on engineering developments and industry trends.
