As our Senior Exploration Geologist, you will play a key role in delineating resources surrounding Greens Creek, by developing targets, designing programs, and helping execute on a variety of projects from early to advanced stages. This is an ideal role for an experienced project geologist with ambition and drive looking to take on larger projects and dive into a senior technical role. Strong candidates will have a strong background in both geology fundamentals (structure, stratigraphy, mineralogy) and economic geology (hydrothermal geochemistry, metallogeny of the Western Cordillera), as well as experience working with larger drill programs and exploration teams.

Employees may be frequently exposed to underground work environments; outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold, extreme heat, potentially hazardous wildlife; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in most work environments is usually very loud. This position may occasionally require work on nights or weekends.
The intended regular work schedule for this position is four days on, three days off (4/3) with daily transportation from the Auke Bay dock in Juneau. An eight day on, six day off (8/6) schedule may also be utilized depending on the needs of the operation.

Here's what you can expect in this role:
- Training first. Every hire is provided MSHA training in the first 4 days on the job. We also provide department-level training on not just what to do, but safety, as well.
- You will monitor and direct activities at both the core shack and remote field locations.
- You will effectively utilize cross-sections in geologic software, keeping current quick logs plotted on the sections.
- Perform remote fieldwork including geologic mapping, soil sampling, and monitoring ground geophysics.
- Relocate to Juneau and work on a remote island. You will take a boat commute to work every day. Every department is slightly different, but our Geology department works either 4 days on followed by 3 days off or 8 days on followed by 6 days off for 11 hours each day.
- You will assist with publishing weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and presentations on exploration results.
- Safety is important. Every piece of equipment and each work area must be inspected before work starts. You will promote and personally observe safety procedures.

ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS - Other Duties May be Assigned
Within this role, technical functions are executed at an advanced level of capability with little to no involvement from a supervisor. Technical functions for the role may include:
- Operates with a high degree of autonomy to analyze diverse geologic data sets, develop targets, design and present programs, and execute exploration work, from early-stage reconnaissance to advanced drilling
- Organize, schedule, and prioritize work activities to ensure timely completion of projects, programs, and objectives
- Geologic/structural modelling and interpretation in 2D and 3D space
- Assist with the design and preparation of drill programs
- Manage contractor's work, including contract core loggers, geotechnicians, pad builders, and drillers
- Performs QA/QC on drilling data including assaying standards and blanks
- Track costs and invoices for reporting and reconciling to budget
- Assis with the development of requests for capital expenditures according to company policy
- Assist with weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on drilling progress and results
- Assist with design, schedule and budget of yearly exploration programs
- Assist with budget presentations for proposing yearly drilling programs at corporate meetings
- Assist with the creation of drilling, assaying, contract logger requests for proposals (RFP's) and contracts
- Assist with the reviews of mining plans and resource models to identify gaps or opportunities for drilling to add confidence and/or reserves
- Interprets drillhole and production face data to understand the geometry of the mineralized horizon and develop an appropriate exploration strategy

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience Requirements
- B.S. in Geology or Geosciences with a Field Camp requirement.
- Broad-based experience in greenfields/brownfields exploration with at least 5 years working as a hard-rock geologist in metals exploration.
- Remote helicopter supported exploration or underground mine experience preferred
- Strong understanding of the mineral exploration process and best practices for core/RC drilling, in both greenfields and near-mine environments.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and willingness to consider alternative hypothesis and perspective.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, stay organized and effectively manage data in a dynamic work environment.
- Proficient with PC office applications, GIS, and database software.
- Experience with 3D modeling software (Leapfrog, Vulcan, Micromine, or similar) to display data, plan drillholes, and perform geologic modeling.
