Who We're Looking For: New York State Professional Geologist certification is required. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Geological sciences, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field and has at least 5 years of professional experience. Experience with ArcGIS, Esri ArcGIS Collector App, and NYSDEC EQuiS is required. OSHA HAZWOPER 40 certification strongly preferred.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- Fieldwork experience for remediation projects
- Experience with Phase I and II
- Previous work on BCP, VCP, or ERP Projects
- Strong Technical Writing and Reporting Skills
- Strong Attention to detail
- GIS in field data entry as well as in office interpretation, database creation, and mapping
- Analytical data interpretation and comparison to required regulatory standards/criteria.
- Data Management/Entry experience with the NYSDEC Electronic Data Deliverable (EDD) EQuiS system.
- Able to work autonomously on field projects
- Required to lift up to 50 lbs of equipment and walk long distances on hilly terrain in all seasons
Job Description for the Geologist:
- Makes decisions independently regarding environmental complexities and methods
- Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, tests, etc. in order to plan, design and implement a project
- Prepares or modifies reports, soil boring or test pit location plans, sample collection plans, schedules and designs for projects
- Assists in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping and marketing strategies for proposed projects
- Follows standards of practice such as ASTM, OSHA, ICR56, NYSDEC and USEPA Regulations
- Adheres to Bergmann Quality Assurance Program
- Coordinates and collaborates with other design and technical professionals who are part of the project team
- Performs Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments and associated reporting
- Assists in Developing construction cost estimates
- Required to perform field inspections, research, measurements, well monitoring, O&M of remedial equipment and sample collection
- May serve as onsite project representative
- Travel for projects is anticipated to be approximately 50% of position and applicant should be willing and able to travel.
