We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Geologist to join our team. This role involves a mix of fieldwork and office responsibilities, including soil and groundwater sampling, drilling oversight, and remediation system operations. You will also be involved in regulatory compliance services, data analysis, and technical report preparation. Responsibilities
Our office is located in San Diego, CA, and offers a collaborative and friendly work environment where team members enjoy working together. We encourage inter-office collaboration and hold quarterly team-building events. The position follows a hybrid model, requiring office presence three to four days a week, with the initial months requiring full-time office attendance. The work schedule is typically 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with approximately 70% fieldwork and 30% office work, eventually balancing to roughly 50-50. The role involves 30% travel, with 0-15% overnight travel, primarily within Southern California and occasionally to Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $100000.00/hr.

Job Description

Responsibilities
- Conduct fieldwork including soil/soil vapor and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance.
- Evaluate chemical data and contaminant fate & transport.
- Oversee drilling and perform lithological borehole logging.
- Install wells, conduct aquifer testing, and monitor groundwater.
- Evaluate groundwater and soil remedies, estimate costs, and perform design calculations.
- Provide environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
- Analyze data and prepare maps, tables, and figures.
- Prepare technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, or Environmental Science.
- Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.
- Local ties to San Diego or Southern California area.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Ability to adapt to various tasks and work effectively in a team.
- Effective communication skills.
- Master's degree in Geology (nice to have).
- 1 to 2 years of prior internship or work experience in environmental consulting.
- Research experience in contaminated media or remediation technologies.
- Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Experience with software such as ArcView, Microsoft Access/SQL, Modflow, Surfer, KT-3D, Leapfrog / EVS.
- Geologist in Training (GIT) certification.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Mechanical skills.
