Job Title: Level 2 Registered Nurse - Emergency Department
Job Specialty: Acute Emergency Nursing
Job Duration: 8 months
Shift: Day/Night/Weekends/Holiday rotation - 7a-7p / 7p-7a Full Time, 2 on-call shifts in 4 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: Full-time
Experience: Minimum of one year of acute hospital experience as a registered professional nurse
License: State RN Licensure
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification
Must-Have:
- Two years of experience serving in an Emergency Room environment as a Registered Nurse
Job Description:
- Deliver high-quality compassionate care to patients and families in the Emergency Department.
- Assess patient needs, prioritize care, provide direct care, apply interventions, and evaluate patient progress.
- Utilize both invasive and non-invasive procedures to manage life-threatening and routine emergency situations.
- Apply relationship-based care to alleviate anxiety, provide information, and address pain/discomfort and safety.
- Connect with patients and families during triage to identify initial management, assign care priorities, and establish rapport.
- Conduct primary and secondary assessments, identify deviations from norms, and determine necessary interventions.
- Assess and document psychosocial needs and any signs of domestic violence or abuse.
- Reassess patients to identify responses to treatment or changes in condition and respond appropriately.
- Foster mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members for optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families for diagnostic procedures, post-emergency care, and home care.
- Understand and address patient and family needs, keeping them informed throughout the emergency room visit.
- Maintain awareness of patient conditions throughout the emergency department stay and update communication boards accordingly.
