As a Global Category Sourcing Manager, you will create and implement sourcing strategies for at least one services category and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to drive efficiencies, reduce risks, and costs for Amazon. You will develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery. You will drive results through methods that include competitive bidding, negotiating, and analyzing data and market trends for your category.
The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives, communicates appropriately and influences customers and suppliers at all levels. You will be collaborative, but also work with significant autonomy. To be successful in this role you will be highly analytical; think strategically and globally; exhibit curiosity and learning drive; have a sense of urgency to meet customer timelines, succeed in a fast-paced environment; and have a high level of customer focus and business judgement. It will be critical to embrace and model Amazon's Leadership Principles.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
\tManage a category within the Security Services domain.
\tAchieve cost savings through bidding and negotiations
\tPlan and execute effective negotiation strategies with vendors.
\tAnalyze category data and metrics to drive Procurement category strategies
\tUnderstand trends in customers' needs and concerns, across categories and regions, to influence customers' priorities
\tBuild strong relationship with customers and ensure customer satisfaction
\tLead supplier selection process across multiple categories, internal teams, and regions, and create longer-term supplier selection strategies for management
\tLead business reviews to discuss best practices and issues and to ultimately improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships
\tProvide support throughout the contracting process, as well as management of contracts post-execution.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
\tBachelor's Degree from an accredited university or equivalent combination of education and experience
\t5+ years' experience in a Procurement organization performing vendor management, contract management, negotiating complex purchases, and bidding
\t3+ years' experience developing category strategies and pricing models as a Project Manager who can prioritize workload and manage complex projects within cost and schedule.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
\tMaster's degree in Business, Procurement & Supply chain or relevant business discipline.
\tAbility to communicate and report on market intelligence data, including commodity trends and labor indexes
\tExperience in data centers, engineering, an infrastructure service provider or similar technology company
\tDeveloping market intelligence to communicate across the organization
\tExperience with creating Procurement systems and tools
\tProven ability to implement category strategies globally
\tProven ability to deep dive and develop innovative ideas for process challenges.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $71,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $153,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
