Global Customer Quality Manager
Job Mission:
The Global Customer Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction by proactively managing quality performance across all plants. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and ensures compliance with industry quality standards. The incumbent will be a key liaison between the company and its global customers, ensuring that quality expectations are met or exceeded.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary customer interface for all quality-related matters, ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Drive resolution of customer concerns using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, and FMEA.
- Lead and support customer visits, audits, and run@rate events to maintain strong relationships and compliance with requirements.
- Conduct monthly reviews with Plant Operations to analyze 0km performance, launch quality metrics, and field performance.
- Monitor and drive improvements in Key Result Indicators (KRIs), including CPPM (Customer Parts Per Million), CNCR (Customer Non-Conformance Reports), and IPPM (Internal Parts Per Million).
- Collaborate with plant quality teams to ensure customer concerns are effectively addressed and that lessons learned are implemented across all sites.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA quality standards through audits, gap analyses, and corrective actions.
- Support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for new launches to ensure robust quality systems are in place before production.
- Facilitate cross-functional quality improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and manufacturing consistency.
- Lead training sessions to develop quality competencies across the organization, fostering a proactive approach to defect prevention.
- Manage escalations and drive supplier quality improvement initiatives in alignment with customer expectations.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to drive defect reduction and process stability.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or a related technical discipline).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a customer-facing quality management role within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in problem-solving tools (8D, DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, G8D, APQP).
- Strong understanding of ISO/IATF quality management systems and automotive industry quality standards.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and global initiatives.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-cultural environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret quality performance data and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to lead without direct authority, influencing teams to achieve quality objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and quality management software.
- Willingness to travel as required to support customer audits, issue resolution, and plant visits.
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with frequent interaction in manufacturing environments.
- Some exposure to shop floor conditions, including machinery, noise, and production processes.
- Travel required for customer visits, audits, and on-site support.
- Overtime may be required based on customer demands and critical quality concerns.
