As the Global Engineering CoE Leader you will focus on defining and implementing global engineering guidelines and lead QH Capital deployment process aimed to optimize industrial processes, improve safety and optimize resources sustainably. You will lead a team of 3 senior engineers and work closely with your main senior stakeholders in EHS, R&D, Operations and Finance. You will be instrumental in realizing our future state vision and achieving our strategic company goals.

What will you do ?
  • Leading a team of three CoE Senior Global Engineers in the disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering and Electrical and Instrumentation.
  • Develops design solutions, lead the definition and implementation of global engineering guidelines, standards, and procedures.
  • Leads process safety management and skills training for union and non-union employees, addresses regulatory compliance issues in consultation with the EHS team, and participates in HAZOP reviews.
  • Implementation of QH Capital deployment process to manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy, cost estimates, and quality from conception to completion using WBS, FEL or PMBOK methodologies as base.
  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through to start up and certification.
  • Develop best practices, routines, and innovative solutions to improve production rates and quality of output.
  • Develops improved manufacturing processes through partnership with outside players capable of providing changes in QH production system
  • Support the management of maintenance, energy, waste disposal, and capital budgets.
  • Define, support, and implement process safety management in Quaker Houghton under EHS responsibility.
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with regional Capex manager, project managers and other project participants to aid and technical support.
  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Provide strong production support including troubleshooting of process safety management conditions, process operating conditions, conducting special tests, and developing reports.
  • Do benchmarks across the company and outside the company to guarantee effectiveness of process safety, manufacturing processes and productivity gains YoY.
  • Monitoring compliance to applicable codes, standards, guidelines, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications. Making determinations for equipment, staff, and training needs.
  • International travel at approximately 30% .


What are we looking for ?

Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.

Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role with focus on manufacturing operations engineering support in the chemical industry. Solid experience in engineering team management.
  • Capital Project execution management using WBS, integrated planning and MS project.
  • Demonstrated HAZOP experience.
  • Proven working experience as a Project, Process and PSM Engineer.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of chemical plant operations including reaction chemistry to be able to develop and implement safe operating procedures and conducting HAZOP reviews of chemical process operations.
  • Project Engineering Management - Third-party management, WBS, integrated planning, MS project, S curve, etc. Working knowledge of process engineering software packages
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD.
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Knowledge of process related standards and experience in process simulations.

Language: High level of English is a must, additional languages is highly valued.

Location: A hybrid role based preferably at our Barcelona, Spain, Uithoorn, Netherlands or Conshohocken, US. Flexible to other QH sites within the EU.
