Purpose of Position:
Responsible for managing with the Global Logistics accounting team's daily activities and month end closings of Network Shipping and Vessels' ledgers. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, and Company deadlines. Manage requests and inquiries associated with the quarterly and annual financial statement audits, as well as provide support to Sr. Manager, Accounting & Finance, Global Logistics.

Responsible for managing with the Global Logistics accounting team's daily activities and month end closings of Network Shipping and Vessels' ledgers. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, and Company deadlines. Manage requests and inquiries associated with the quarterly and annual financial statement audits, as well as provide support to Sr. Manager, Accounting & Finance, Global Logistics.
Accountabilities:
- Actively manage the month end close by overseeing team deadlines and deliverables.
- Review and approve journal entries as well as Intercompany Vouchers prepared by logistics accounting staff, and prepare journal entries for certain areas
- Prepare and/or review balance sheet account reconciliations monthly and propose adjustments as needed to ensure accurate financial results.
- Prepare financial statement analytics for Shipping legal entities.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of improvements and changes to accounting controls, processes, and procedures.
- Provide support to the Sr. Manager, Accounting & Finance, Global Logistics.
- Work with external and internal auditors throughout the year and provide support to accounting team to ensure compliance wight DM policies and procedures and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley).
Minimum Skills Required:
- BS degree in accounting or related field required.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a large organization; ideally from a multinational company in manufacturing or consumer goods industry.
- Broad U.S. GAAP knowledge and experience with its application.
- Experience with general ledger accounting.
- Experience using a large ERP system (SAP and/or Oracle a plus).
- Experience managing teams.
- Exceptionally organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fully fluent in English (written and verbal).
