Position: Global Regulatory and Export Manager

Reports to: Director of Regulatory Affairs

Location: Remote capable.Waukegan, Illinois, about 40 miles north of Chicago's Loop.

Salary range: $92,000-$102,000 - Compensation is based on education, skills, experience and other job-related factors.

Position Summary:

Manages global regulatory initiatives within the Innovation, Quality and Compliance Department. Manages multiple projects to ensure labeling and regulatory documentation meet domestic and international guidelines and regulations.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of domestic and international food regulations.
  • Track potential changes in domestic and international regulations.
  • Communicate to team regarding current and changing regulations that affect NMV.
  • Complete regulatory documentation within IQC or required by regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate communication with third party partners (translators, authorities, suppliers, labs, etc.).
  • Assist with customer inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot export issues.
  • Perform other related tasks/duties as requested.


  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Nielsen Massey Vanillas, Inc. (NMV) and Nielsen Massey Vanillas International B.V. (NMVI) regarding formula and labeling regulations for the US, Canada, EU, UK and other international markets.
  • Utilizes appropriate domestic and international regulation sources to determine formula and labeling compliance for Nielsen-Massey and third-party supplier products.
  • Works as a key team member with label creation and revisions.
  • Closely follows and communicates changes with domestic and international regulations that may impact formulation, labeling, claims, export, and other regulatory areas.
  • Reviews Sales and Marketing documentation (sell sheets, advertisements, website, etc.) to ensure regulatory compliance and appropriateness.
  • Guides NMV and NMVI staff to ensure compliance with desired claims including third-party certifications (Kosher, Halal, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Organic, etc.).
  • Assists with export regulatory documentation, issues and questions when needed.
  • Performs internal audits, assists with third party audits, develops documentation and other Innovation, Quality and Compliance (IQC) Department tasks as needed or assigned.
  • Participates in various cross-functional teams, meetings and projects to achieve NMV and NMVI business goals.
  • Assists staff with customer and consumer inquiries as needed.
  • Utilizes NMV/NMVI and third-party software and tools to accomplish job duties.

Knowledge and Characteristics:

MUSTS:
  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience.
  • Management experience or related technical area experience.
