About This Role:

This position has global responsibility for client facing project delivery including the functional groups of Proposals, Project Management, and the integration of fire & gas detection systems and suppression packages. Systems is a global growth platform critical to the future of Det-Tronics. This position will:
  • Manage a global team, maintain a solid foundation for project execution, and develop a path to accelerate future growth
  • Lead an organization of 30+ employees globally, including 5 direct reports
  • Focus on timely and accurate project forecasting / execution, project risk management, employee engagement, and process improvement
  • Lead team to design, approve, and manufacture custom control systems for fire and gas detection monitoring and alarm


Job Responsibilities:
  • Set Systems Group direction and expectations
  • Set overall Systems Strategic Priorities for process improvement, project execution, and growth of projects group.
  • Set project priorities and coordinate master scheduling for Systems Projects delivery.
  • Develop, review, and monitor employee Performance Goals (PFT).
  • Provide accountability for group task completion and performance for:
  • Direct labor reporting
  • Systems Group metrics (tracking, reporting, and related improvement initiatives)
  • Collaborate with other functions (finance, operations, sales, etc.) to ensure successful project execution
  • Ensure employee engagement and performance recognition
  • Plan and host team building activities
  • Responsible for career and succession planning of direct reports
  • Regularly meet with direct reports including international travel to global team members
  • Direct training and implementation of common process, tool usage, CRM and ERP needs
  • Monitor and recognize high performing employees via active communication, frequent feedback, and award nominations
  • Provide Systems Group Administration
  • Set expectations and ensure training for an ethical workplace
  • Ensure group compliance with all applicable Environmental Health and Safety standards
  • Manage group time off, travel, employee education, flexible work arrangement, and expense approvals
  • Set and meet budgets for each department. Work with Finance and Department managers to seek budget adjustment approvals as needed
  • Monitor resource loading and provide justification for new roles, role changes and removals, and to implement and communicate organizational changes as needed

  • Required Qualifications:
    • BS/BA degree in business, technical, manufacturing field or equivalent required. (Preferred) Master's degree in business administration, management or equivalent preferred.
      Minimum of 10 years' experience in related disciplines
    • Minimum of 5 years direct personnel management / leadership experience
    • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and with business and operational performance measures
    • Experience overseeing or leveraging technology
    • Demonstrated ability to meet business and financial objectives
    • Demonstrated team management, planning, organizational, time management and communications skills.
    • Ability to work quickly and accurately and handle multiple initiatives.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with fire and gas detection products and system integration practices or related industry
    • Global experience with panel building, EPC delivery and industrial product integration
    • Direct sales and marketing experience
    • Experience in leading process or systems implementations with a focus on project management
    • Experience leading complex, matrixed organizations
