This position supports the Global Total Cost (GTC) organization, focusing on cost reduction activities to make Ford more profitable and competitive in the marketplace, playing a key role in helping to meet corporate cost objectives. The main objective is overall management of design cost reduction activities, focusing on development of global strategic processes and tools, as well as leading the development of global cost applications and dashboards to facilitate collaboration between the global team. Responsibilities also include data analysis, presentation, communication, and benchmarking to evaluate and compare part designs, features and technologies of internal benchmarks along with other OEMs. Additionally, the role involves KPI development, reporting and program management to ensure delivery of the identified cost reduction actions. You will be exposed to exciting new products and technology and will be joining an agile team of doers making a difference at Ford by working collaboratively and delivering excellence day in and day out.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do...
  • Play a key and vital role in meeting corporate cost objectives for both existing products and forward model vehicles
  • Identify, manage and report on key KPIs to manage the business
  • Transform complex data in a manner that drives informed decision making, collaboration, action and improved overall efficiency
  • Lead and coordinate data analysis, development of executive summaries and presentation material to communicate key findings at all levels of the company
  • Manage and complete benchmarking activities at the NA Benchmarking Center
  • Work with global counterparts to coordinate data consistency and benchmarking studies
  • Provide recommendations for additional studies to be initiated and attributes/data to be collected and analyzed
  • Develop/own the processes, tools, and data supporting the Global Organization in delivering design cost reduction
  • Lead the development of global cost applications and dashboards to facilitate collaboration between cross-functional skill teams
  • Enable other departments to meet our corporate cost objectives by providing benchmarking data and resources
  • Identify, generate and manage cost savings/avoidance ideas
  • Facilitate the maturation of cost savings/avoidance ideas


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 3-5 years experience in the automotive industry focusing on cost reduction
  • Excellent Microsoft skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Office, Teams)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience in process development/improvement
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
  • Confidence to challenge the status quo
  • Design Thinking/Lean Design experience
  • Qlik Sense, Alteryx, and AI/LLM experience
