Government Affairs Manager | Ripple Fiber
We are looking for a Government Affairs Manager to join our growing team in Michigan. This role will work closely with state and local governments, regulatory agencies, industry associations, and internal stakeholders to promote policies that facilitate broadband expansion and competitive market conditions.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with state and local government officials, regulatory bodies, and industry stakeholders to advocate for company interests.
- Analyze requirements for the ability to permit and construct fiber networks in relevant jurisdictions
- Collaborate with internal departments (Engineering and Construction) to work with jurisdictions to proceed with permitting and construction
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments impacting fiber broadband deployment in Michigan.
- Represent the company in meetings, hearings, and industry events, providing testimony and policy recommendations when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, compliance, and business development, to ensure regulatory adherence and alignment with company objectives.
- Engage with industry associations and advocacy groups to support broadband expansion and digital inclusion initiatives.
- Develop position papers, policy briefs, and advocacy materials to communicate the company's stance on key issues.
- Identify opportunities for government funding, grants, and public-private partnerships to support network expansion efforts.
- Assist in managing lobbying efforts and external consultants to effectively navigate policy and regulatory challenges.
- Support public relations and community engagement efforts related to broadband policy and infrastructure projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Communications, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory affairs, preferably in the telecommunications or broadband industry.
- Strong knowledge of Michigan's legislative and regulatory landscape related to telecommunications and broadband infrastructure.
- Proven ability to build relationships with government officials, policymakers, and industry leaders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft policy documents and deliver presentations.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills to assess policy impacts and advocate effectively.
- Experience managing lobbying efforts and working with industry associations.
- Ability to travel as needed within Michigan for meetings, hearings, and events.
