We are seeking a Grade 4 Homeroom Teacher to join our Wentworth Campus (JK to Grade 7). The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and engaging educator who will demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life. This is a Temporary Contract position for the 2025-26 school year that starts on August 22, 2025, with the possibility of extension into a continuing role.
Responsibilities
Build collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the community
Deliver the curriculum as per the BC Ministry
Ensure that the individual learning needs of each student are met
Establish a respectful and safe environment for the children
Collaborate with other members of faculty within the grade team and school to create innovative lessons and units that embrace the design thinking framework
Attend regular Professional Development to strengthen and inform practice
Required qualifications
Bachelor of Education
Experience teaching at the elementary school level
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
BC Teaching Certification
Basic First Aid
Canadian residency and legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred qualifications and experiences
Exceptional teaching skills, with a creative approach
Have an aptitude in differentiated learning styles and approaches
Experience with Inclusive Education practices
Knowledge of the BC curriculum
Skilled in the use of technology
A passion for ongoing learning and professional development
Accountability and integrity
A team player

The current 2024-25 faculty grid annual salary range for this position is *$73,845 to $109,969 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education. Faculty with a Masters will be paid at a higher range. *The 2025-26 faculty grid will be confirmed late April.
