Manhattan Youth is seeking a dynamic, full-time Grant Writer to join our passionate team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in researching, crafting, and submitting grant proposals to New York City's Department of Youth and Community Development. This position demands exceptional writing abilities, strategic acumen, and adept project management skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. Initially, this role will focus on securing RFPs for our DYCD-funded middle-school programs.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with flexibility for remote work. Hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm, with occasional adjustments based on project deadlines and organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research to identify relevant funding opportunities aligned with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with the Budget Director and Director of Middle School in the renewal applications for twenty-three DYCD-funded programs.
- Prepare compelling grant proposals tailored to the requirements of each funding source.
- Write, edit, and submit persuasive grant proposals and applications.
- Collaborate closely with program staff to ensure proposals accurately reflect the organization's mission and initiatives.
- Maintain meticulous records of grant submissions, deadlines, and outcomes.
- Cultivate and nurture relationships with funders and stakeholders to enhance future funding prospects.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's strategic fundraising plan.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
- Experience working in PASSPort is a plus. Past experience submitting to governmental portals essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Writing, Communications, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in grant writing within the non-profit sector.
- Experience in successfully securing grants from entities such as the City of New York and/or the Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD) is a plus.
- Proven track record of securing grants.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in interpreting financial information and budgets.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint, OneDrive).
