PROFILE: Highline Public Schools' Business Services department is looking to hire a Grants & Associated Student Body (ASB) Coordinator to join the budget strategy team and support our system's responsible fiscal stewardship of grants in alignment with our Board Policy (i.e. Policy 6000: Financial Management for Equity). An ideal candidate for this position has accounting knowledge and experience, ideally in a PK-12 public school context, and is highly detail-oriented with a technical skillset in Microsoft Excel, and is able to track and manage multiple priorities, including deadlines for claims and grant related deadlines. This role reports to the Director of Budget strategy, and works across the budget and accounting team to ensure internal departmental collaboration and effective business processes, ultimately in support of ensuring accurate accounting and budget management that supports increased transparency, agency, and leveraging of supplement resources to support activities that align with Highline's Strategic Plan. This role also works with grant and project leads as a thought partner on planning and grant management, and therefore, this candidate must have strong communication skills and ability to support the capacity building of leaders in our system to effectively plan, track, and manage their resources. An ideal candidate is committed to operationalizing practices that support equitable distribution and sustainable management of resources that centers on positively impacting student experiences in Highline Public Schools.

SUMMARY: The position of Grants & ASB Coordinator is responsible for the development and monitoring of district grants, and the Associated Student Body fund, to ensure compliance with district, state, and federal laws, policies, and procedures. This position directly supports the Controller and works closely with the Executive Director of Budget and the Senior Accountant to ensure accurate and timely claims and accounting processes.
