We're busy evolving Zumiez.com/Zumiez.ca and the Zumiez App to become world-class multi-channel sales and marketing tools for our brands our customers and our store staff. We're looking for an experienced and capable Group Manager, Digital Sales to join our existing team of experts.
We have an exciting growth plan and a long list of engaging projects set for 2025 and beyond. We're looking for a seasoned leader who knows the technical and customer-driven e-Commerce and multi-channel space; has hands on experience developing and executing digital merchandising programs and doesn't mind rolling up their sleeves to get the job done. We have programs to grow, projects to manage, tests to plan and execute; results to interpret; trends to identify, and results to share with the broader Zumiez team. The Group Manager, Digital Sales is responsible for all Zumiez Digital Sales (B2C ecommerce). They will drive our sales and on site marketing efforts, leading a team of merchandisers, in channel marketers, and the product information team. With a demonstrated passion for exceptional brand experiences and a customer-first mentality, the Group Manager of Digital Sales will lead their team to serve our customer in the multi-channel world. They will work cross functionally with many departments: creative, buying, marketing, social media, search, BI and development teams.
As part of a dynamic team, you will be expected to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. You must be self-motivated, flexible, and capable of handling both tactical and strategic assignments. You must be very organized; detail-oriented; tenacious yet tactful; a strong problem solver; and able to work well under pressure. Principal Accountabilities
- Lead digital sales growth through all digital channels through merchandising and in channel marketing efforts. Develop digital sales strategies, programs and plans for our digital channels.
- Drive the team to exceed financial goals. You'll have responsibility for annual digital sales targets and be rewarded for exceeding the goals.
- Oversee and lead the day-to-day execution of digital merchandising and content marketing strategy. This includes Seasonal calendars, messaging placement, categorization, merchandising tools, site search, check out etc. to maximize sales and profit.
- Lead the product information team ensuring product information is customer centric, optimized for SEO and leads to strong conversion. Responsibilities include sample process, product copy (customer/SEO), product production and troubleshooting ensuring all products are active through all digital channels. Focus on continuous process improvement that leads to improved "Speed to Market" in the production process.
- Oversee the efforts to improve overall merchandise presentation and ease of shopping to improve conversion. Includes digital merchandising (Navigation, categorization, filters, recommendations, in site search optimization)
- Lead the development of pre-season merchandising and digital content marketing plans that outline timing and tactics to achieve sales goals. Plans will include objectives, strategies as well as detailed timing and tactics for the digital customer experience, promotions, key messages, digital merchandising and integration with brick-and-mortar merchandising programs.
- Lead the development and execution of the promotional calendar for digital channels. Oversee the selection of product and promotional messaging strategy. Oversee the identification of product focuses for customer marketing based on product assortment, inventory availability and purchase trends.
- Lead the monthly business team meeting. Provide analysis and recommendations to improve digital sales performance through customer experience, product mix, pricing, merchandising, promotions and offers (free shipping etc.). Own analysis for all digital sales channels, full price/off price sales mix, SKU performance, sell-thru and product selection.
- Collaborate with the Buying Team, Design Team, Development Team, Operations and Customer Care to communicate business trends as well as event plans to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Lead the development of merchandising requests for new features and functionality to improve the overall merchandise presentation and ease of shopping to improve conversion. Assist in the design, development, testing and post evaluation phases of new digital customer experiences.
- Lead the development of the seasonal print and digital catalog customer experience to achieve financial goals - incremental sales and profitability.
- Provide inspiration, guidance, management and resource planning for the Digital Sales team. Be a leader within the company for driving the daily digital business.
- Partner with leadership to establish and foster cultural norms that sustain growth over long periods.
- Hire, develop, train, lead and nurture an industry leading digital merchandising team that consistently exceeds expectations.
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years relevant retail digital merchandising experience.
- preferred BA in Business, Merchandising, or Marketing.
- Demonstrated digital leader with ability to build and lead teams, including the ability to influence peers and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute digital merchandising and marketing programs.
- Demonstrated passion for multi-channel retail, technology, digital commerce and marketing.
- Skilled in analyzing digital key metrics and making data-driven decisions.
- Thorough knowledge of retail math
- Experience working on a team of creative, technical and marketing professionals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate feedback to peers in a constructive and supportive manner.
