HBITS #13889 IT Specialist Expert
Maternal Mortality Review (MMR) Initiative
The goal of the MMR initiative is to ensure a comprehensive review of factors leading to maternal deaths in NYS, and to have sufficient information to develop strategies and interventions to decrease the risk of deaths.
Day to Day Tasks:
- Monitor functionality of the upload of new linked data from Vital Statistics and new hospital records from the Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System.
- Design and implementation of modifications to database and data collection fields.
- Maintenance, enhancement, designing of data dictionaries, physical and logical database models, and performance tuning.
- Maintain and ensure database integrity.
- Generate reports.
- Conduct queries as requested.
Mandatory Qualifications:
IT Specialist - Works in the field of Information Technology, experienced in the usage and support of a collection of development platforms, technical architectures or business applications and products that run on those platforms - beyond that of a Programmer.
Expert - 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
Requested Qualifications:
- 84 months of experience on Access database design and table relationships.
- 84 months of experience in data upload to Access database, creating new tables linked to existing tables.
- 84 months of experience in writing user guides to instruct the end-user on how to navigate the database, gathering requirements from the users and incorporating them into the database.
- 84 months of experience in data analysis, visualization and presentation.
- 84 months of experience in ensuring valid data entry.
- 84 months of programming experience in Visual Basic.
- 84 months of experience in SQL queries and macros.
- 84 months of experience of Access interface to ODBC.
- Bachelor's degree with concentration in Computer Science.
