Head, API Integrations

SUMMARY

The Head of API Integrations is a key technical leader reporting to the CTO. Will oversee the work product of the engineering teams producing internal and external APIs focused on integration to 3rd parties. Ensure effective processes, strong communication, and successful API product delivery. Will have strong technical skills, experience leading multiple engineering teams, and a history of delivering top-notch integration products within a SAAS environment while managing and executing strategic technology roadmaps.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: (Employee may perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. • Collaborate with the CTO and other executive team members to align engineering integration initiatives with business goals and strategic objectives.
• Oversee the API engineering team members to ensure quality applications are being deployed to production.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security Officer to ensure robust security practices and compliance with industry standards and regulations in all software development processes.
• Participate in cross-departmental collaboration to integrate API engineering efforts with other business units, such as product management, finance, marketing, and sales.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Security Officer to deliver API driven products and applications on scalable infrastructure and architecture to support the company's growth and evolving needs.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation, experimentation, and adoption of best practices within the engineering team.
• Lead initiatives to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability, ensuring a seamless user experience for customers.
• Implements Application Development policies and procedures for all Synergy API products.
• Executes on timelines for the development and deployment of all applications and APIs.
• Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.
• Partners with Security and Infrastructure team to preserves assets by ensuring all applications built have disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
• Implements Web solution by monitoring project progress; tracking action items; conducting design and implementation reviews; examining, researching, and resolving issues with web partners; escalating issues to appropriate authority; responding to team members' concerns; coordinating requirements with interested departments.
• Assures quality Web solution by ensuring test plans; project and technical documentation is completed.
• Maintains an end user-focused outlook in delivering IT projects to market.
• Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
• Manages the resolution of all API related problem incidents, escalate where appropriate and report on remediation efforts and corrective actions.
• Other duties may be assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 15+ years related experience
• Working knowledge of SQL database.
• Working knowledge of API driven architectures including API management, Node.js / React type frameworks, GraphQL.
• Working knowledge of Azure and Content Delivery Networks for performance.
• Ability to review application code from development teams to ensure Synergy coding standards are met.
• Prior experience launching and scaling technical products in an early-stage or growth-stage startup environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of adapting style to different audiences and stakeholders, both internally and externally, representing the company in front of customers.
• Resilient and able to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a sense of urgency and bias for action.
• Seamlessly prioritize multiple stakeholders and projects with limited resources and information.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of IT systems, applications and user environments (Windows, Linux, Unix)
• Good prioritization skills flexible enough to adapt to changing business needs
• Ability to work on tight deadlines and within constraints
• Knowledgeable resource on new trends in IT hardware, software and infrastructure and able to leverage new industry solutions for improved efficiency, superior uptime and reduced fixed cost
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation and listening skills
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work in a team-based environment while driving deliverables across the organization
• Proven experience in successfully managing a team
• Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technology.
