Job Description:
The Head of Commercial Strategy, Business Initiatives, and Execution defines and delivers business strategy for the multiple verticals across the Commercial Bank. Key accountabilities include developing strategy that drives alignment of the vision of the Commercial Bank. This role is responsible for leading the Commercial Bank Horizontal focus on efficiency and growth across all lines of business. This role provides strategic insights by identifying potential risks in Commercial practices and implementation of changes. In addition, this role acts as champion and sponsor for many of the key investment strategies and coordinate execution of those ideas with the respective Vertical Product in Commercial. This role is also responsible for exploring and developing opportunities for new business development, to ensure efficient and profitable growth for all Commercial business lines.

Depth & Scope:
- Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any/all disciplinary actions, as required
- Defines the vision, roadmap and strategy for commercial business end-to-end
- Drives completion of Target Operating Model and Business Architecture to ensure alignment of vision to scope
- Ensures solutions fulfill program objectives and requirements, and align with enterprise strategies; considers business process and organizational change impacts at minimal cost to the Bank
- Effectively identifies and manages stakeholder engagement and impacts across the enterprise
- Leads Commercial Efficiency and Cost Management measurement system and strategy
- Partners with LOB Vertical Product Owners to bring championed and prioritized ideas to life
- Develops cost and efficiency scorecards for each LOB for Commercial
- Plays a leadership role in the design/discovery phase of key cost reduction initiatives, ensuring that we have a solid business case and high-level requirements/expectations before handing off to delivery organization(s)
- Reviews and challenges business line economic sanctions policies, standards, and procedures, at implementation and subsequent review
- Designs and implements Strategy to transform Commercial business across all business verticals with a focus on continuing to evolve in future
- Oversees the development and execution of complex strategic initiatives to support strategy across the Commercial business
- Responsible for researching and understanding the competitive landscape
- Manages the Capital Allocation to maximize return on equity for Commercial Bank
- Supports the continued growth and success of Commercial Bank to accomplish its strategic plan; designing and implementing innovative solutions, revenue generating strategies, and exploring untapped opportunities
- Understands various operating models to drive best practices; ensuring communication across all intra-Commercial and inter-bank teams
- Leads a large team of professionals executing one-time and on-going initiatives supporting the approved strategy, to drive organizational efficiency and growth
- Identifies and drives operational improvement initiatives to reduce expenses or re-align resources, improving Business line profitability
- Partners with multiple stakeholders across Business Lines, Shared Services and Control Groups to identify and execute initiatives
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
- 15+ years of related experience required
- In-depth knowledge of Commercial industry, including operations practices and legal and regulatory guidelines
- Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, improve and apply complex policies, processes and procedures
- Ability to handle high-profile, high-pressure assignments with high growth potential, assimilating multiple business lines and cultures with many different business partners with ability to respond quickly to changing requirements and priorities
- Management skills, with ability to coach, train and motivate staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly organized, with demonstrated ability to develop, analyze, improve and apply complex policies, processes and procedures
