About the role

As the Head of Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for creating high-impact metrics, dashboards, and strategic documents that deliver data-driven insights to guide critical decisions for both our internal teams and their clients. You will lead automation efforts to expand analytics capabilities, ensuring they scale to meet the evolving demands of the business. As the first member of this team, you will have the unique opportunity to hire, develop, and mentor a team of BI Engineers and Data Engineers that drive innovation and the scalability of our analytics.

Your role will involve working with data from multiple sources and collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive informed decision-making. You should possess a deep understanding of BI solutions, strong analytical and statistical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. In this fast-paced, growing start-up environment, you must be a proactive self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, a problem solver, detail-oriented, and motivated by innovation.

Responsibilities
    • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, automated, and user-friendly systems, reports, and dashboards that empower internal and external stakeholders to make impactful decisions.
    • Analyze historical data to extract valuable insights from large and complex datasets, identifying trends to support decision-making, including delivering both written and verbal presentations of results and recommendations.
    • Coach, manage, and identify gaps with current and future BI team needs; providing direction and prioritization of data and analytics roadmap.
    • Promote data-driven decision-making by crafting compelling narratives that integrate data analysis, visualizations, and statistical insights seamlessly.
    • Create and manage the analytics product roadmap in partnership with internal stakeholders.
    • Perform ad hoc data analyses and investigate data quality issues.
    • Define, develop, and maintain essential business and operational reports reviewed weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
    • Implement training and documentation to help internal teams maximize the use of our self-service analytics tools.


Requirements
    • 8+ years of experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, BI Engineer, Data Scientist, or similra
    • Bachelor's Degree or BS or comparable degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
    • Proven expertise in optimizingTableau dashboard performance
    • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large data sets
    • Advanced experience in SQL
    • Experience developing and applying predictive models and other advanced statistical approaches, preferably in a marketing, media, or retail context
    • Understanding of marketing, media and retail


$125,000 - $200,000 a year
