As the market-leading provider of Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA), our company is dedicated to offering flexible and compliant healthcare reimbursement solutions. Following our recent acquisition by Oak HC/FT, we are poised for significant growth and are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our compliance initiatives.
The Head of Compliance will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, including SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST, banking (BSA and AML) and insurance regulations, ACA, ERISA, Medicare, and CMS guidelines. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the healthcare reimbursement landscape and the ability to navigate complex regulatory environments.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Design and maintain comprehensive compliance programs that adhere to SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST, and other relevant standards.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay abreast of changes in federal and state regulations affecting ICHRA operations, including banking, insurance, ACA, ERISA, Medicare, and CMS guidelines. Provide strategic oversight of insurance licensing and state carrier appointment regulations, ensuring compliance with applicable requirements. Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate reviews or audits as needed to confirm that necessary licenses and certifications remain current.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
- Policy Development: Create and update internal policies to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Training and Education: Provide guidance, education, and training to management and staff on compliance matters and regulatory changes.
- Audit and Reporting: Conduct internal audits to monitor adherence to compliance programs; prepare and present reports to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Third-Party Management: Oversee compliance aspects of third-party relationships, including vendors and partners, ensuring they meet all regulatory and contractual requirements. Provide oversight of contract evaluation and adherence, coordinating reviews as needed to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD) a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field within the healthcare or financial services industry.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) a plus..
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST, ACA, ERISA, Medicare, CMS regulations, and banking (BSA and AML) and insurance compliance requirements.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable policies and procedures.
- Attributes: High ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism; proactive and solution-oriented mindset; ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.
