Position Overview

Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Corporate Development will be responsible for actively sourcing, identifying, and executing acquisitions to drive BGB Group's growth within the pharmaceutical services sector. This role encompasses the entire M&A lifecycle, from initial target identification through post-acquisition integration.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring onsite collaboration. The role will be based out of our office located in New York City. All candidates must be willing to commute into the office on a regular basis.

Role Requirements:
  • Lead the search for M&A opportunities: Proactively identify and source potential acquisition targets within the pharma advertising and consulting sectors through market research, industry networking, and other channels.
  • Initial evaluation of targets: Conduct preliminary due diligence and financial assessments to determine the strategic fit and financial viability of potential acquisition targets.
  • Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a robust M&A pipeline, tracking potential targets and their progress through the evaluation process.
  • Business Case Development: Build comprehensive business cases for potential acquisitions, outlining strategic rationale, financial projections, and potential synergies.
  • Deal Structuring & Negotiation: Recommend deal parameters and negotiate deal terms, working closely with the finance department and the board of directors.
  • Due Diligence: Lead the due diligence process, coordinating cross-functional teams to assess financial, operational, and legal risks and opportunities.
  • Integration Planning: Develop and execute integration plans to ensure a smooth transition of acquired companies into BGB Group, working with business operations.
  • Performance Tracking: Track the performance of acquired companies against the initial business case, identifying areas for improvement and maximizing value creation.
  • Relationship building: Establish and maintain relationships with industry players, including company owners, executives, and advisors.
  • Presentations to the CEO and Board: Prepare presentations and reports to communicate potential M&A opportunities and progress to the CEO, executive team, and board of directors.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in corporate development, M&A, investment banking, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in building business cases, conducting due diligence, and negotiating deal terms.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical services landscape, including advertising and consulting (preferred, but strong industry experience is a MUST).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong focus on results.

Salary Range: $200,000

BGB Group offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary of $200,000 plus performance-based bonuses commensurate with experience and achievement of M&A goals

The salary range provided is for the NYC-hybrid position, which requires occasional in-office presence, and represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. For candidates in other locations, salary will be adjusted to reflect local market rates. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
