Role Details

Location:San Francisco, CA. This role is based 2 days per week out of our San Francisco, HQ and is not eligible for full-time remote work.

Compensation:The annual salary range for this role is $217,800 -$257,000USDin addition to equity & benefits.

The Team & Role

The design team at Gem is responsible for helping us build the best end-to-end recruiting platform. We do this by developing a deep understanding of recruiting teams workflows, thinking broadly about the talent acquisition landscape and where its going, and collaborating with product and engineering teams through product-market fit and beyond. Were looking for a design leader to set direction for Gems growing platform, champion the superior usability Gem is known for, and partner with leaders across the business to keep Gem at the forefront of modern talent acquisition.

What youll do

• Partner with product & engineering leadership to bring our mission to life and set longer-term direction for the product.
• Develop and grow a top-tier design team.
• Talk to customers regularly to stay close to feedback.
• Obsess over usability and champion high quality design across the platform.
• Roll up your sleeves and dive into complex projects alongside your team.

About you

• You have 4+ years of experiencing managing a design team.
• You have 7+ years experience in product design.
• You possess strong craft demonstrated through a portfolio, illustrating deep understanding of complex workflows built for multiple personas.
• Youre a natural owner and act with urgency: nothing is too small or outside your job description, and are excited by our core value of velocity.
• You sweat the details: you naturally get in the weeds and push projects to be better.
