The Digital & Synthetic Group (DSG) is the group primarily responsible for developing Metrea's software suite. That suite encompasses both the digital infrastructure that wraps physical products and solutions and extracts mission and business data from their digital exhaust, as well as the synthetic superstructure that allows Metrea to make the most of its physical exposures and their digital instrumentation, and then mirror them in an ultimate fidelity synthetic environment.
Metrea leverages the commercial-grade digital infrastructure and AAA-gaming grade synthetic superstructure that its DSG is building to model and simulate a multi-verse of what-ifs, enabling some very unique contributions to global security that span technical, tactical, operational and strategic levels.
Position Summary
We are looking for an inspiring and strategic leader to guide the transformation of our newly established Digital & Synthetic Group (DSG). In this pivotal role, as Head of Digital and Synthetic Group, you will shape and execute a cutting-edge software architecture and engineering roadmap, that will enable Metrea's blueprint and deliver a series of discrete, harmonized software products and software-enabled solutions.
Your expertise in translating complex programs into actionable, manageable projects will be key to empowering our engineering teams to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.

Key Responsibilities:
- Take the helm of the Digital & Synthetic Group, a multidisciplinary team encompassing engineering, architecture, decision science, product management, support functions and incubation labs across multiple offices (UK, Sweden, Poland and US).
- In this leadership role, you will define the group's overarching strategy, align diverse capabilities, and inspire the team to achieve exceptional outcomes.
- Drive the development roadmap for digital and synthetic product engineering, ensuring alignment with company objectives and culture.
- Break down silos and bring together diverse teams to enhance collaboration and innovation, placing the right people in the right roles to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively managing expectations and communicating progress.
- Foster an environment that aligns with the Metrea's FIRMWARE (culture) and supports new leadership, ensuring teams feel empowered and motivated.
- Challenge the status quo and inspire teams to pursue new ideas and approaches, enabling parallel progress on projects that have historically faced obstacles.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Background in AAA gaming, ideally military simulation or related sectors, with a proven track record in scaling complexity.
- Strong, consistent leadership abilities with a focus on team development and stakeholder management.
- Ability to navigate challenges and drive initiatives forward in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in harmonizing diverse teams and capabilities, fostering a unified vision.
