We are hiring a Head of Finance & Accounting!

The Head of Finance & Accounting will be a key executive responsible for the overall financial management and accounting functions of CYM. We're growing fast and we're looking for a finance leader who can help us scale into a national brand. This executive will be a highly strategic and seasoned finance leader that will play a key role in CYM's continued growth and expansion. The Head of Finance & Accounting will lead the accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions of the organization, providing strategic leadership, guidance, and hands-on work to ensure the company's fiscal health and long-term growth. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in financial management, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to drive financial strategy in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The Head of Finance & Accounting will oversee a growing accounting team and ensure that financial operations are aligned with our company goals and core values as we continue to grow. The Head of Finance & Accounting will report to the CEO and will work closely with our investment partner, Invus.

Your core responsibilities will be:
  • Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
  • Lead the development and execution of financial strategies that support business objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership to create long-term financial plans, including the preparation of multi-year capital expenditure budgets
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes.
  • Create and lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate and achievable financial plans.
  • Monitor actual performance against budgets, providing variance analysis and adjusting forecasts as necessary.
  • Partner with senior management to develop, track, communicate and improve impactful key performance indicators as it relates to our day to day business
  • Ensure the company maintains strong internal controls and complies with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, systems, and tools to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness across the organization.
  • Ensure effective cash flow management, capital allocation, and risk management practices to support the company's growth and stability.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to support strategic decisions and provide insights to senior management.
  • Successfully manage, develop and motivate the organization by providing fact-based recommendations that improve profitability, operating efficiency and effectiveness
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, including operations, marketing, and human resources, to support business initiatives and financial decision-making.
  • Provide transformational and inspirational leadership and guidance across the organization and set clear direction, aligning people and resources accordingly.

You'll be a great addition to the CYM team if you have::
  • Minimum of 10 years of finance and accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in the quick service restaurant or retail industry.
  • Experience in a scaling restaurant environment is highly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or MBA preferred
  • Strategic thinker with broad finance functional experience, including accounting, reporting, customer / channel profitability analysis, revenue recognition, financial modeling, M;A, treasury, and forecasting, balanced with sound business judgment.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic skills with an obvious operational bent; ability to quickly grasp complex business strategies and identify downstream operational implications.
  • Excellent ability to listen, understand and translate senior leadership needs, scope projects accordingly, negotiate objectives and deliverables and activate the organization to deliver.
  • Demonstrated track-record of designing, implementing, leading, and transforming a planning process into a more insightful, dynamic and forward-looking engagement with the business.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing finance and accounting teams.
  • Highly involved and engaged with the business on a forward-looking view, and ideally has spent time in operationally focused positions in addition to finance roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, with the ability to work with large sets of data.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who executes quickly on ambitious goals and holds themselves and their teams to the highest standard when achieving these goals.
  • Strong leader who commands respect internally and externally by building high-performing teams and fostering relationships in the field.
  • Customer-obsessed; strong understanding of the effect of operational excellence in driving retention and best-in-class customer experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence business decisions.
  • High level of integrity, with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
