Job Title: Head of Library Sales

Salary: $129,000 - $172,575 per annum

Location: New York with hybrid working

Contract: Full Time/Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for a Head of Library Sales to be part of the global management team for Library Sales and to lead a team with the objective of delivering revenue retention and growth across our academic library business, as well as strategic change across our publishing portfolios for research and higher education.

About the role

As the Head of Library Sales, Americas, you will lead a team of Sales Representatives and Sales Managers, driving revenue growth and retention across our academic library business. You will play a pivotal role in informing and implementing our global library sales strategy, fostering a culture of rigor, consistency, and creativity within your team. This role involves collaboration between various teams and departments, including Marketing, Technology, and Customer Service.

You will be responsible for developing and executing sales plans, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will analyse market trends, monitor competitor activities, and provide insights to improve our sales processes and strategies. Your leadership will be crucial in achieving our financial goals and expanding our presence in the Americas region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a large sales team with revenue responsibilities.
  • Recruit, develop, and support a high-performing sales team.
  • Implement the Academic sales strategy in key markets across the US, Canada, and Latin America.
  • Contribute to the global library sales strategy and manage internal projects and committees.
  • Meet and exceed financial goals for the Americas region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.


About you

We are looking for someone with extensive sales experience in the Academic sector, a strong understanding of the higher education system and marketplace, excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills, and a proven ability to lead and develop a sales team. You should be adept at analysing market trends and competitor activities to provide strategic insights. A creative and determined approach to problem-solving is essential.

Additionally, you should have a track record of successfully implementing sales strategies and achieving financial targets. Experience in managing large teams and working in a collaborative environment is highly desirable. Your ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success in this role.
