Capability Unit

Metrea Strategic Mobility (MSM) operates a fleet of KC-135 aircraft, offering an air-to-air refueling service that seamlessly, safely, and professionally integrates into military aviation training and operations.

Position Summary

The Head of Maintenance reports directly to the Head of MSM and ensures the safe, compliant and efficient running of the line maintenance operations around the globe.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Oversees all line maintenance operations to ensure they are conducted in accordance with the applicable regulations and the company procedures.
  • Ensures that all maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations are performed in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Supervises and directs line maintenance personnel, ensuring they are properly trained and qualified for their roles.
  • Implements and maintains the line maintenance operations quality control system to ensure the airworthiness of all articles maintained.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact with the applicable regulatory authority.


Skills and Experience

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Aviation Management, Education, Business Administration).


Experience:
  • Must hold an FAA mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant (A&P) ratings or be an EASA Part 66 licensed engineer with either 3 years of experience within the past 6 years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including, at the time of appointment as Head of Maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as MSM flies; or
  • 3 years of experience within the past 6 years repairing aircraft in a certificated MRO, including 1 year in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service.

Skills:
  • Must be able to manage a heavy workload and prioritize.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on collaboration.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.


Certifications:
  • Must hold an FAA mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant (A&P) ratings or be a EASA Part 66 licensed engineer.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Current US Passport.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. Non-Exempt employees may be required to work over 40 hours per week with approval from the department manager.
