The Role: Head of Operational Design
Reports to the Vice President - Airport Development.
The postholder is responsible for supporting the VP in all aspects of Airport Development, focusing primarily on relationships with key stakeholders; Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Airport Operators, and Airlines.

The Role: Head of Operational Design

The postholder is responsible for supporting the VP in all aspects of Airport Development, focusing primarily on relationships with key stakeholders; Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Airport Operators, and Airlines.
Responsibilities & Expectations
- Support the VP - Airport Development in all departmental objectives and activities.
- Deputize for the VP as required.
- Attend (and on occasion, chair on behalf of the VP) Airport Development departmental and project meetings and site visits.
- Provide operational advice and guidance to PS Terminals' Managing Directors and Leadership Teams.
- Maintain relationships with CBP and TSA to ensure that PS Terminals and operations are fully compliant with each agency's regulations and current Technical Design Standards.
- Lead project meetings with equipment suppliers and systems integrators to achieve best value and timely delivery, installation and testing of equipment for TSA and CBP.
- Ensure that PS is up to date with current and future developments of TSA and CBP equipment and processes to ensure that we always deliver the best possible service for our Members and guests.
- Regularly meet with TSA Headquarters teams and senior officials to ensure that PS achieves approvals for the Reimbursable Screening Services Program (RSSP) for future locations.
- Work with PS lobbyists to expand the RSSP beyond existing caps, and to change status from a pilot program to a permanent program.
- Work with airport operators to ensure compliance of PS operations at all locations, collaborating with airport operators and TSA to author ConOps for future PS locations.
- Work closely with the Head of Member Experience, and the Head of Training & Standards to integrate local requirements into relevant training programs.
- Work closely with the Head of Safety and Security to establish requirements for future PS locations and agree related SOPs
- Ensure consistency of approach and standards of the terminal-based Airline Affairs Managers (AAMs), guiding them to identify and prioritize key airline relationships
- In conjunction with the AAMs, author and agree upon SOPs and best practices with Airlines' leadership for all existing and future PS Terminals
- Prioritize work with airlines' senior leaders to achieve national and international agreements with the key domestic and international airlines.
- Provide operational advice and guidance to PS Terminals' Managing Directors and Leadership Teams.
- Establish relationships with PS third-party contractors at future locations: baggage handling, valet service, etc.
Requirements
- Minimum of six years of Airport Operations Experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a senior leadership role
- Knowledge and experience of PS and airlines' operations
- Experience of working with TSA and CBP within the operational regulatory framework
- Experience of working with airline leaders on operational design and service standards
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively
- Open availability, including weekends and anti-social hours
- Frequent travel to all PS locations is required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong multi-tasking and organization skills
- IT proficiency, including experience of Microsoft Office applications
