Position Summary:
The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs to ensure a safe working environment within the chemical manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations while promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
- Lead and support the site's safety committees and employee safety engagement initiatives.
- Ensure proper training programs are in place, including onboarding safety training, periodic refresher courses, and emergency response drills.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses; determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain compliance records, safety reports, and documentation to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for OSHA inspections and regulatory audits.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of industrial hygiene programs, including hazardous materials handling, PPE requirements, and exposure monitoring.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance safety culture and integrate best practices into daily operations.
- Manage the emergency response and crisis management plan, including fire prevention and hazardous material spill response.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in occupational health and safety.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable health and safety regulations.
- Experience in hazard communication, process safety management (PSM), and industrial hygiene.
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) are preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and influence safety culture within the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
