Mission or Goal of Unit:
Provide Consultation Liaison services in the VCUHealth System and teaching to trainees, and Health system medical providers.
Chief Purpose of this position:
Provide consultation liaison services withindesignated VCU Health System programs, particularly in the area of BariatricSurgery. Provide teaching and supervision in the Health Psychology Postdoctoraland Psychiatry residency programs.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Clinical- Areasof concentration include therapy and surgical evaluations with patients in a weightloss surgery program, general clinics in the Department and other clinics asassigned; supervision of psychology graduate students providing direct patientcare in Primary care clinics.
2. Teaching- Supervision of a health psychologypost-doctoral fellow and doctoral level psychology students and teaching othertrainees (including psychiatry residents, graduate program practicum students,undergraduate psychology students).
3. Service- Assistin training within the health psychology postdoctoral fellowship; service onappropriate committees of the department, university, and health system.Provide national and local leadership, advocacy, and public education/publicpolicy guidance related to health behaviors research.
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited program, advanced training and experience in clinical health psychology, licensed or license eligible in the Commonwealth of Virginia
Experience completing Bariatric Surgical Evaluations
Experience in a broad range of behavioral health interventions to include but not limited to transplant, weight loss, primary care, geriatric, cancer, and other settings.
Demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary research collaborations developing approaches to challenging behavioral problems related to health psychology.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
APA accredited postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Health Psychology.
